There is no perfect Chuch!!
We have been going to the 'Beacon' Church for about 8 months (ish) now. What drew us to it in the first place was good worship, relaxed format, good teaching with dissussion as well and good prayer. It pretty much ticked all our boxes of what a Church should be - although it is a 'City wide' Church and Jon and I really believe in local Church where you worship where you live. So we have been happy going there, kids love it (mostly due to the chocolate spread!!). Recently however they have really bought into the 'Florida revival' thing that is going on - I don't have any major issues with that - I believe God heals and can do amazing things. But it just seems like Church have gone a bit OTT, the Bible teaching has been lost and it seems like we are going over and over the same things with services going on for ages (hard with two small children). I think the stuff that is going on is good, but the emphasis is I believe going a bit scewif!!!! Also the beacon used to be a really good place to bring people who were not really into God as it was informal and relaxed, now its just so full on that people with no Church contact would freak and I dont' think its really explained or appropriate for people. So there you go!!! My views and my views only - there is no perfect Church and I know that I am never going to find one, each Church has its own issues, problems, and things that they do excellently and brilliantly!!! Right i need to switch off - just done some stuff on application form for Transition Mentor in Dudley - looks a fab job and term time only!!! Sleep well. xxxx
