Cant believe that everything is happening so quickly. In two weeks we will be moving to Rugby to our wondeful friend Rob's house. So much to do and so many people to say goodbye to!!!
We went to Rugby at the weekend, we met a couple of people on the Coventry YFC exec, but more importantly visited two schools. Both schools had pros and cons - we got the impression that St Maries was more 'academic' and Oakfield was more 'fun'. After thinking lots we decided on Oakfield, we think Zak will have more fun there and he is only 4!!! Also i KNOW the school is good, I KNOW the teachers are fantastic and caring and supportive and keep all the children in line!!! I KNOW that it's a school I loved working in for 18months. It might not attract the most 'middle class' children but that does not bother us that much. Zak is pleased with our choice as he likes the idea of swimming (the near by childrens center has a swimming pool) and he liked it as some of the children in one of the class said hello to him. So Zak is going from Wood Lane School, logo a tree, to Oakfield school, logo a tree!!!
I was very brave today and washed Orange Mills!! He was getting very dirty and a bit smelly - he has had sick and orange juice on him in the last couple of days. So this morning he went in on a 60 degree wash with some sheets and bits and bobs - and he came out beautiful - smelling wonderful and BRIGHT orange - Jon wasn't sure it was the same Orange Mills when he came home from work!!!
I've just done nearly an hours ironing, need shower and bed now! Made some YUMMY cookies today that taste like shop ones!! Got the recipe of some random schools web site. It's here if anyone wants to try it!!! http://www.leighsaintthomas.wigan.sch.uk/smartie_cookies.htm
