Just finished reading this book
Basically it is about three retired men who take weekly walks in the Peak District. I picked it up atZak's school summer fayre. The Express gave it the review of "terrific....had me crying with laughter" - I wouldn't give it such a glowing review but it was a good read and made you really feel like you were the fourth person on their walks. Okay book, but nothing special - I would give it maybe 6 out of 10.
Book reading seems to have slowed down a bit recently - think its because we have been so busy in the house. I have kind of read: Medic: Saving Lives - From Dunkirk to Afghanistan by John Nichol, Tony Rennell, and Eleo Gordon. I say kind of read because I only read bits. I have wanted to read this since it came out but only recently has it made it into our local library. It was way too 'history' for me - I was hoping it was more of real life stories but it was just lots of historical infromation. So if you are into history a great read, but not for me :( I kind of stuck with it for a bit then just picked bits out of the rest of the book!!!
Maisey was talking to Nana in bed this morning. Nana said "Maisey what would you like to be when you grow up?" Maisey replied "A princess". Nana explained that you could not really be a princess unless your Mummy and Daddy were King and Queen. "Oh, I will be a fairy then" she says.
