2 Jobs, 1 Life, 2 Kids, 1 Wife - Aaargh!!
Ok, so it's only September 1st and already I'm starting to realise that maybe 2 part-time jobs is going to be quite tough.
The thing is, neither of the 2 parts to my new life are "hours" based - it's more a case of "Get your job done, no matter how long it takes" - which is fine, but I'm also acutely aware that both jobs are going to require loads of admin.
Again, admin doesn't worry me, but my scheduled hours at St James' are pretty full just from the "hands on" stuff, so where does all the admin time come from?
This is why I am lying on the lounge floor on a friday evening, thinking about all the work I have to get done tomorrow (my day off).
This could be an interesting (and very busy) 12 months.
In all fairness, I must be the world most efficient procrastinator - This morning I turned on my computer to do some work, and while it was booting up I put the kettle on, and while the kettle was boiling I... wait for it... washed a pair of dirty old gardening gloves, for no apparent reason. By the time they were looking relatively clean, I realised I was probably never going to wear them again, and my computers battery was almost flat from sitting not being used now for nearly an hour (and still no cup of coffee).
I also spent some time today trying to fix the laptop that I sat on last weekend, and Lara kindly pointed out, that after deciding that the computer was pretty much dead, she had sat and watched me carefully put all the components back together and then go and throw the lot in the wheelie bin.
OK, I admit it - That's just ridiculous!!
Mental note: Things don't need to look nice for the bin men!!
