Another day, another holiday time!!
I spent the day in Stafford today. I can't give specific reasons for being there, but let's just say it has something to do with coffee.
Tim (my brother) goes home tomorrow, after being here for less than 48hrs. It's a bit sad really, but I understand that he needs to get back home. We went to see "NEXT" (the movie, not the shop) this evening, and then I taught him how to play poker. The film was actually very good, despite mixed reviews I'd read. I was quite impressed.
And now I'm typing my blog at a silly time in the morning, and knowing that I have still to load the dishwasher before I head up the wooden hill. It's like my nightly ritual.
I also spent a fair amount of time today talking about prayer, and how the whole "God answers prayer by either a 'Yes', 'No' or 'Wait'" is a sircular prayer idea (i.e. it can never be wrong). Very tough issue, but hopefully someone will have some insight into why this may be a bad theological argument.
I may also have offended a friend today about the naming of a project that they're setting up, I hope I didn't, but you never can tell. And I also discovered that the NKJV bible is still quite a popular translation (I have a huge NKJV study bible that I never use 'cos it seems really old fashioned. But there you go.
So nothing really exciting today, but at least there was something for you to pass the time by reading.
See you tomorrow (when hopefully something interesting will happen).
What I learned...
- Film cameras still take far superior pictures to digital ones
- Crayfish Tails are extremely hard to find (I looked in 5 supermarkets)
- Zak likes to call people "My Lover" (except for me, who he calls "Stick")

Answering prayer with a yes no or a wait is sircular (although I would have written it with a c) but that isn’t a problem, unless you don’t hear god properly, then you assign the coming of said event to him (which can only glorify him anyway - which can’t be bad). the problem with lots of those prayers is that the wait answer, I might assume, is normally made up, and God is really saying no - if it comes to pass in future it may not be an answer to prayer it might be something else (I am slow to say fait or chance.)
This idea also raises the question what are you doing when praying. I do not think praying is a constant list of questions, in fact the only time I think that is ok is if God has said he is going to do it (we are sure he is going to) but then what is the point is asking? Prayer should be a lot more about explaining feelings with your father and then submitting situations to his will - does that not make more sense. Jesus said take the cup from him, but if it was Gods will then keep it. He understood God's plans were bigger, higher, greater, better, than his own.
That might have made no sense and I don’t actually know why I wrote it - I didn’t think of it when I started - maybe why it made no sense. Guess maybe it from God (as I am such a holy man, that isn’t too hard to grasp - I wish!!)
ps - not saying your discussion was in vein - maybe people (including myself) do, too much, expect God to be like a servant to us - but we should remember that is what we are to him - he has given us salvation - and to put it crudely we are indebted to him!
Pps - I just wrote a lot!! Lol
Zak calls people 'My Lover'?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
