Ooops, I'm a day behind...
Yesterday was such a busy day it's ridiculous!!
I headed into NSYFC first thing and had a very interesting/useful line management meeting, then hot-footed-it to Sheffield to see James (a good friend indeed/need. The journey there was pretty good really - very scenic, and it was good to see James for a while, however, somehow he ended up coming back to Audley with me (it was the last youth small group and James used to help with it so thought he'd come back) and the journey back took nearly 3 hours. NOT GOOD!!
The last small group session was really good. We played a lot of tray-bash (don't ask) and ate lots of cake together. I did a speachie thing, and wanted to say "keep going - don't forget what you've learned" and then maybe to pray for everyone, but instead (in the heat of the moment) I just said something to the effect of "Hey, you've been a really cool youth group. Bye!!" - Not quite so profound.
Anyway, I was up till like 2.30am chatting to James about some stuff and then had to get up again at 7am to take him to Stoke train station. What fun.
And then.... I got petrol and bumped into Phil from the Queensberry Rules, which was quite comical, as he clearly had no idea who I was (and why should he?) and I don't even think I told him my name (stupid), but it was nice to talk to him. (It's wierd when you know one member of a band, but have never even spoken to the others, but there you go).
And now I'm at NSYFC, ridiculously early (but then I did get some time off yesterday) and have to get the Aurora Promo video into something like a finished state before I go home as today is my last day at NSYFC for like 2 weeks.
See extended post for things I learned yesterday.
Ciao, Honeysuccle(sp)
What I learned in the last 24hrs...
- When you use sat-nav, make sure you check the route it's gonna use before you set off!!
- Zak hates playing "Batman" with his friend, because he always has to be Robin, and "all that robins do is eat worms!!
- Once again I learned (the hard way) that going to bed really late, and getting up really early don't go together very well!!
And one final thought...
Could Jesus have died (by falling off a building or similar) before the Crucifixion, or would God have definately interviened (like with a spaceship or something)? - You may need to watch "The Life of Brian" to understand that one.

Maybe he didn't recognise you with a petrol pump?? I wonder what Mr Myaggi would say in a situation like that....
Your speech was lovely Jon; you were bound to be emotional, so don't worry about it.
Other things you learnt yesterday:
--> Mixing chocolate biscuits, melted marshmallow, peanut butter, melted chocolate and rice crispes makes an AMAZING cake.
--> It is quite impossible for me to escape from any church youth event unharmed.
