A glutton for punishment...

After spending the last 3 weeks upgrading our family bathroom (and still not having finished), yesterday I offered to help a friend to swap their bath for one that they've had stored away in the garage for 2 years. I honestly thought it would be a piece of pie, as their bathroom is actually big enough for a bath (unlike ours) and the pipework didn't need updating - it should have been a "one out - one in" type job...

As you've probably guessed, it wasn't quite that straightforward, as Derek had actually bought a bath that was 4 inches wider than the old one so it was a real dog to fit, and none of the pipes lined up. So for now the taps are literally just attached to the pipes but not the bath so that they could turn the water back on, and someone's gonna have to get some flexible bath tap pipes if the thing's ever gonna fit properly.

What joy!!

On  a positive, we joined the Old family at an EXCELLENT firework display (with a licenced mini-bar) and today we've had propper american style pancakes for breakfast, and we're having lunch with our old friend Joan. She's ace, but her gorgeous golden retriever "went to sleep" recently so it may be a bit sad.

But hohum, I guess life goes on!!
