YFC Indoctrination...
Today saw the 2007 National YFC induction day at the new national HQ in Halesowen. It was quite a fun day in all, with a clear focus on convincing all involved that YFC is the best organisation in the WORLD!!
I took Gavin and Tony (the Auroras) along and got to meet a fair few YFC "celebrities" which was cool. I ended up spending most of my lunch time chatting with Roy Crowne about the state of gap year programmes and the MLS scheme - I can't believe I didn't know that YFC set up the CYM (yes, another TLA) course!!
Anyway, having rushed back from Halesowen (with a brief cup of tea at my parents along the way) I finally dropped the guys back at the office and headed home for 5.55pm - just in time to bath the kids before Liz (my boss) arrived for dinner. I made the mistake of letting her choose a movie to watch - she chose "Mars Attacks" which is a film that I like for nostalgic reasons rather than quality content. I should have said so at the time, but hey, at least now 2 more people know why you should never invite weird alien-looking women into your home. And then it was back to tiling our bathroom (which again I just quit for the night). Hopefully it'll all be looking something like good soon.
And tomorrow we have the NSYFC team morning, which bizarrely is gonna comprise mainly of internet shoot-em-up games and other strange activities - What a hard life I lead.
AND.... The beer should be ready for barreling tomorrow evening, which I am actually VERY excited about (surprisingly).
Right, I guess I should go to bed.
Auf Wednesday, Pet!!
