Granny Knows Best...
I finally decided to do something about this whole "band" idea that's been floating around in my head for years, so today, I took a bold step & registered a new web domain, and here it is!!
All I need to do now is actually get some musicians together, decide what style of music we're gonna play, and the rest will hopefully be dead easy (lol).
At present, I'm thinking along the lines of a funky semi-overtly Christian sound - a bit like "myspoon" but with more understandable lyrics (they're worship sets are phenomenal). There's something so profound about a Christian band that can connect with youth culture whilst retaining their integrity as Christians. And the difference in a well-rehearsed worship band to one that basically comprises of a worship leader and some "good" musicians to back him/her up never ceases to amaze me.
So there you go. The Granny Mechanics suddenly have the potential to really exist in the real world as well as hyperspace. How exciting.
Let me know your thoughts on the whole idea - especially how "granny mechanics" can be linked to any kind of a Christian focused band.

That is a fun name - don't know how serious people will take it as a worship thing!! but who knows, and it is good that you have started getting into this music thing - you have been putting it off too long. i would love to be in band if i could play an instrument, but alas i cannot!!
