FIFA, what happened?
It appears that I am absolutely rubbish at football games on the PS2. How did this happen?
I always used to be naff at them, and then I spent many long nights with a good friend, learning the game, and crafting my skills to become a confident and effective player.
This week, however, a good friend, Dave Saunders has been staying with us, and I thought it'd be good to dust off the old controllers and challenge him to a game (or 7) and 4 games later Dave was ahead by 15 goals!!
Have I lost my knack? (well, obviously it would appear) And to think I nearly bought a new trophy just so I could feel proud about getting to keep it when I won.
Anyway, I've been away in the north-east for a few days this week on the leadership training course that I'm doing this year. It's been a really good few days, and Lara and the kids seemed to cope well without me, which is really good.
I really haven't had a lot to report for a few weeks, and it's not because I lead a boring existence (well, maybe it is). I've just been doing pretty mundane stuff.
The comedy moment of this week was definitely when I went into a high school yesterday for an assembly, and while I was in the waiting room a blue ford escort pulled up right outside the main school doors. so there I was thinking what a stupid place they had chosen to park, and the receptionist comes into the waiting area, and says "do you have a blue Ford?", to which my immediate response was "NO". But actually, I do own a blue ford, and Yes, I had left my lights on, which is what the receptionist was talking about. How stupid did I look, trying to deny I owned a car that I had just signed the school book to say was mine.
Anyway, I'm gonna try and get blogging far more often again now, cos the crazy few weeks are pretty much over - but then I say that every time, so who knows!!
