Finance & All That Jazz
This last week has been interesting (as usual)...
Liz (my boss) has been away on a conference so the office has been quite quiet, and the church we go to have started their "40 days of prayer and fasting" - which doesn't actually mean fasting completely for 40 days - various churches & organisations are committing to different days throughout the next 2 months to cover the city in continuous prayer. It's all very exciting, and I've volunteered to lead a 2hr worship and prayer time at the beacon every monday lunchtime for the next 6 weeks, so that'll be interesting.
I've also come up with a new bible-reading idea. I tried to start a 1yr reading plan on January the 1st, and did really well until YFC staff conference (Jan 6th), so since then I've been struggling to keep going and catch up - and failing myserably.
So here's the new idea - I like short term projects - so I'm gonna attempt to read the whole lot over the next 40 days. And so far, so good. after 2 days I'm up to Exodus 25 - which is beating the quota of 30 chapters-a-day to complete it in the 40 days. I'm really excited about doing it, so let's hope it's the start of something new.
With regards to finance - Liz came back from her conference today and talked to us all about the issue of raising personal support for NSYFC. And to be honest, although I can't think who to ask to support our work, I actually think it's a really good idea.
I guess (reading between the lines) that means if you're reading this, you're probably fairly close friends or family (possibly even both?) , and could well end up getting a letter from us about the AMAZING work that NSYFC does - Just a pre-warning!!
Right, That'll do for now, other than to say that our friends, Sarah & Derek had an ordeal this week when their son snapped his arm!! OUCH!! All is well now (I think) after a night in hospital and a general anaesthetic. I guess we have all that fun ahead of us. Maybe we'll be lucky.
Anyway, byesy bye!!
